Magnum step safe-switch rod covers are four feet wide and extend from tie plates to switch stand. The expanded metal cover is braced underneath and is arched to touch the ends of outside ties 1 1/2" above the tie rod.

The cover extends beyond the end of the tie down into the ballast to prevent tripping hazards. The design of the cover eliminates the need for bolts or spikes to hold it down. Garbage is prevented from falling down into the switch rod area while snow and water drain through easily
